Ellis Reunion 2008

We spent a wonderful weekend with lots of family. We flew to Salt Lake on Thursday afternoon and drove up to Blackfoot. When we arrived there were already lots of people there having all kinds of fun. There were kids running every which way. Throughout the weekend you could find the kids riding on the 4-wheelers, sliding down the slide, playing in the water, riding the little bikes back and fourth across the street, jumping on the trampoline, getting rides on Grandpa's Ferris Wheel, getting rides on the train, painting dolls and paddle boats, catching candy in from the candy thrower, shooting marshmallows with slingshots or playing in the fountain water. You could find the adults visiting and eating and visiting and eating and eating a little bit more.
We had the dutch oven dinner on Friday night and my oh my was it yummy. We had spare ribs, chicken and rice, bbq chicken, brocolli, potatoes, stroganoff, monkey bread, cornbread, cobbler, cake and lots of yummy salads. I'm sure I gained 10 pounds that night alone.
On Saturday morning we had our annual fish breakfast. We woke up to fish, eggs and potatoes cooking. I'm not a big fish eater, but Grandpa's fish is the best you can get. We also had the annual duck race down the canal. Each person has a duck with a number assigned to it. They start the ducks toward the top of the canal and let em go. The first one to the bottom is the winner. Congratulations Davin!! For lunch we had the much looked forward to chicken in a barrel lunch. The chicken was especially good this year. It had a little extra crunch on the outside. I loved it!
I love reunion weekend and I'm so thankful to lots of family who work so hard to make it the perfect weekend for all 80 of us. We can't wait for next year! Posted by Picasa

It was so fun to see you and Bodie and to be able to visit with you! Hopefully we'll be able to do this again next year, and hopefully you'll be able to bring Bacho as well! We miss not being able to see you more often now that you're in Arizona so it makes these reunions all the more important. Keep in touch!

I love going to the reunions - and next year we will work on the rest of our family.

It's so fun to see your pictures! I wish so much I could have been there and see you. But Kevin's family was in town, and we left for St. George the next day at 6 am, so it was just too much for our little family. Next year!
